The rule in one paragraph
From 1 April 2024, producers and importers of identified oils must recycle a rising share of the oil they place on the market, using authorised recyclers and the official credit system. Targets started low and rise toward 50 percent by FY 2030-31.
What a workshop should do anyway
You may not file EPR returns, but you generate the physical used oil. Selling it to an unauthorised burner undermines the system and can violate hazardous-waste duties. Keep authorisation copies of your recycler.
Oils to segregate
Engine oil, gear oil, hydraulic oil, and coolant are not one waste. Coolant especially should never enter the oil drum.
Marketplace path
List used oil on BioTradX, pick a recycler who can show authorisation, and keep invoices. That is the workshop-level response to EPR, even if you are not the obligated producer.
